In 1829, Hermann and Robert Boeker started production of sabers due to the increasing demand in a restless political era. With in one year they were producing 2,000 items, made by 64 black smiths, 47 grinders and large number of unskilled laborers. In the view of increasing the number of tools and cutting edge instruments Hermann Boeker emigrated and founded H. Boeker & Co. in New York. Young Robert also developed his enterprise in Canada, and also founding a branch in Mexico in 1865. Today, it is still a market leader in its country under the name Casa Boeker.
In New York, H. Boker & Co. concentrated on cutting edge tools from Solingen. Soon Boker folders became more important than scissors, shaving blades or eating utensils. In the early 1960's, Boker USA was sold and acquired by well-known scissors manufacturer Wiss & Sons. Retaining the manufacture of Boker knives he sold them together with Soligen products. In 1970 the company was sold again to Cooper Industries.
Today Boker Knife Company is a producer of high quality cutlery ranging from durable Boker pocket knives and Boker fixed blade knives for the demanding tasks of daily use, to beautiful limited edition collectible knives for the rising number of collectors looking for Boker knives.
